The UPWELLING Academy will officially open on 6 July, marking a significant milestone for the UPWELLING project and its commitment to strengthening skills and innovation across the Atlantic blue economy.
UPWELLING – Unlocking Potential for Workforce Excellence, Leadership, and Innovation in the Next-Gen Blue Economy – is an Interreg Atlantic Area project that seeks to address skills gaps, improve access to marine research infrastructures and foster collaboration among stakeholders from Spain, Portugal, Ireland and France. By bringing together universities, research centres, businesses and public authorities, the project aims to support a more competitive, innovative and sustainable blue economy.
The Academy will offer a flexible and specialised training programme covering key topics such as the blue economy, innovation and knowledge transfer, marine research infrastructures, aquaculture and fisheries, blue technologies, ocean observation, marine renewable energy, and biodiversity and resilient coasts. Participants will also have the opportunity to obtain certification upon successful completion of the courses.
Further information on the training programme and registration details can be found on the UPWELLING Academy website. The launch of the Academy represents a valuable opportunity for students, researchers, professionals and entrepreneurs seeking to develop new skills and contribute to the future of the Atlantic blue economy.
