UPWELLING NETWORK

By uniting a diverse network of 14 committed partners, UPWELLING builds a collaborative ecosystem where each organisation contributes its unique expertise.

OUR MEMBERS

UPWELLING is structured as a collaborative network with three distinct categories of membership: Founding Members, Adherent Organisations, and Adherent Individuals.

Founding Members constitute the original core of the UPWELLING Network. They play a key role in the establishment and initial development of the Network.

Adherent Organisations are legal entities, whether public or private, that formally join the UPWELLING Network. These organisations accede to the Network by signing an Adhesion Agreement, thereby becoming active members of the UPWELLING ecosystem and contributing to its growth and visibility.

Adherent Individuals are natural persons who join the UPWELLING Network in their personal capacity, including professionals, researchers, and students. Their participation allows them to be connected to the Network, receive information about UPWELLING activities, and be visible within the ecosystem, without acting on behalf of or representing a legal entity.

THE PORTFOLIO

Through this portfolio, the capabilities, facilities and expertise available within the UPWELLING Network are effectively showcased, supporting the transformation of experimental research into practical, market-oriented solutions.

How the Portfolio Works

The operational core of the platform is an interactive map that enables users to explore all members and resources within the network through a structured search and filtering system:

  • Member Classification: Distinguishes between founding partners, adherent organisations, and individual professional members.
  • Thematic Areas: Covers key sectors such as marine renewable energy, aquaculture and fisheries, blue tech and ocean observation, and coastal resilience.
  • Technical Profiles: Each map point provides detailed information on infrastructures and technical specialisations.

This structure allows users to easily identify the resources that best match their specific needs.

This comprehensive digital tool acts as a bridge between high-level marine technological infrastructures and the innovation needs of SMEs, start-ups, and external talent.

The portfolio also integrates a range of cooperation scenarios, illustrating how available infrastructures can align with the technological challenges of the sector. These scenarios support companies, innovation hubs, and entrepreneurs in identifying suitable partners, testing facilities, and specialised expertise for joint project development.

If you are interested in accessing these resources or exploring a cooperation scenario, we invite you to contact us through the platform. Each profile includes contact details to facilitate the swift initiation of new collaborations.

BENEFITS FOR MEMBERS

UPWELLING aims to expand its impact by growing a wider Atlantic network of marine infrastructures, businesses, universities, and skilled professionals. This extended community will benefit from the project’s tools, knowledge exchange, and innovation pathways, helping to scale solutions and strengthen the Blue Economy across the entire Atlantic Area.

🌊 For individual professionals

Joining the network involves no tasks or formal commitments. It simply means being part of UPWELLING as an individual professional, based on your experience. Being part of the network allows you to:
– Stay informed about UPWELLING activities and opportunities
– Join future initiatives only if you wish (events, hackathons, training, etc.)
– Connect with other professionals and help build a strong blue economy network
👉 No obligations, no minimum dedication — just connection, visibility and knowledge sharing.

🏢 For organisations

Organisations can join the UPWELLING Network without any operational or financial commitments. What this means in practice:
– Core project activities are delivered by the consortium partners
– Adhered organisations are welcome to join the Academy, take part in Hackathons and apply for future Proofs of Concept (PoCs)
– Organisations will be asked for consent to appear on the upcoming UPWELLING Network map
