UPWELLING Ocean Hackathon®

 

Ocean Hackathon® is a non-stop, 48-hour event during which teams develop a prototype to tackle specific, ocean-related challenges and explore their practical applications using marine data. It is an initiative by Campus Mondial de la Mer which encourages sharing, the use of new digital technologies, and an entrepreneurial spirit.

It offers talents the chance to put the skills and knowledge they have learnt at the UPWELLING Academy into practice, whilst also providing a platform to showcase their talents to stakeholders of the Blue Economy.

You are :

  • Master’s or PhD students : “Develop a concrete solution for a real challenge in a professional context
  • Professional of the Blue economy : “Ocean Hackathon® is full of potentiality to test ideas, project with innovative technologies

Ocean Hackathon®: A milestone in the UPWELLING Academy journey

UPWELLING partners are involved in the organisation of 4 local events of Ocean Hackathon ®. They will be held from 16 to 18 October 2026 in :

The UPWELLING Ocean Hackathon® is an opportunity to:

  • Put into practice the knowledge and skills you have acquired during the UPWELLING Academy,
  • Join the UPWELLING Academy to learn how to master the innovative technologies you need and have identified during local events.

Winners of local events could defend the PoC pilot they developed at the Grand Finale at Brest the 10th od December and could test it at marine and maritime infrastructures of UPWELLING Partners.
